Phyllostachys
iridescens - This bamboo is reported
to be quite vigorous and capable of quickly gaining size. Top killing for
the first couple of years it initially produced a few leaves after the deep
freeze of 2/2007 but the drought finished off those culms and all existing
ones are from this spring. I'm not sure what to expect with this one and
until I have had it longer I'll have to just see how it does. The photos
taken in October 2007 shows 2 years of growth and it is approaching 8 feet
in height. |
